Evolving From an Operational Legacy to Private Capital Investment Management.
The Graham Group began as a design engineering firm launched by Don Graham in a Central Pennsylvania farmhouse basement in 1960, which ultimately spawned three successful advanced manufacturing businesses. The Graham Group name has been broadened and today refers to an alliance of independent operating businesses, investment firms, and philanthropic entities, which all share in the common legacy of entrepreneur Don Graham.
In addition to internal Graham family capital, Graham Group investment firms manage third-party institutional capital for public pension funds, leading university endowments, charitable foundations, and other financial institutions. The investment firms deploy a variety of private capital strategies and seek to offer their respective portfolio companies extensive operational expertise.
The Graham Group investment firms manage funds that own controlling or substantial interests in dozens of operating businesses, spanning industries which range from industrial technologies and advanced manufacturing to software development, healthcare, education, and sports.
The Graham Group name is used to refer to an alliance of independent operating businesses, investment firms, and philanthropic entities, which all share in the common legacy of entrepreneur Donald C. Graham. There are eight investment entities within The Graham Group. Graham Partners and Graham Capital Investments (GCI), LLC (“GCI”) are affiliates, and the remaining six Graham Group investment entities operate independently from and are not affiliates of Graham Partners and GCI, as described in Part 2A of Graham Partners’ Form ADV. From time to time, unaffiliated members of The Graham Group have referred prospective investors or service providers to Graham Partners or its affiliates. Graham Partners and its affiliates do not pay or receive compensation, cash or in kind, for such referrals. However, because of Graham Partners’ and its affiliates’ relationships with The Graham Group, including that certain of the unaffiliated Graham Group entities have from time to time provided services in connection with Graham Partners’ and its affiliates’ fund investments, such members have an incentive to make positive statements about Graham Partners and its affiliates to prospective investors.
